Spring Leaf
Dining Table
Spring Leaf
Dining Table · White Oak, Formed Steel + Glass
Winner, Ellen’s Design Challenge — Episode 2
Spring Leaf was designed and fabricated within an 18-hour competition window. The table uses a minimal palette of white oak, formed steel and glass to create a structure that is both visually light and mechanically expressive.
The steel frame grows upward from four tapered oak legs, splitting and bending beneath the glass top to become both structure and ornament. A suspended oak shelf introduces warmth at the center of the composition while remaining visible through the transparent surface.
The design was developed through rapid physical modeling, full-scale fabrication and continuous adjustment during the build. Laser-cut steel components were formed, welded and finished by hand within the competition deadline.
